How do I book the Hall?

How many people can be accommodated in the Halls?
- The Main Hall can accommodate 100 people.
- The Small Hall can accommodate 50 people.
What are the charges for hiring the Main Hall?
There are a summary of the booking terms and conditions:
- Charges are per hour (or part hour).
- All bookings are for a minimum of 2 hours (no exceptions).
- All evening bookings to end at 11.00pm (no exceptions).
- All bookings are subject to a £50 deposit payable in advance.
- All hire charges are to be paid in full in advance.
- For day time bookings: a 1-hour penalty charge will be levied if bookings overrun, to be deducted from deposit.
- For evening bookings: if the centre is not cleared by 11.00pm then a 2-hour penalty charge will be deducted from deposit.
- The Parish Council retains the right to refuse and/or cancel any bookings.
- The Parish Council does not accept bookings for teenage parties.

The following charges* apply to the main hall of the Community Centre.
- Monday to Thursday
- 9am to 6pm = £9.00 per hour
- 6pm to 11pm = £12.00 per hour
- Friday
- 9am to 6pm = £9.00 per hour
- 6pm to 11pm = £22.00 per hour
- Saturday & Sunday
- 9am to 6pm = £13.50 per hour
- 6pm to 11pm = £22.00 per hour

Can I see if the hall is free?
Yes, please check for availability using the calendar on What’s On page.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, this is currently £50.00. This is a sum of money paid by cheque/Cash to offset any cost should the hirer cause loss or damage to the hall or its contents. If paid by cheque this will not be paid into our Bank unless there is loss or damage.
How can I pay for the booking?
You can pay by BACS transfer to:
- Name of bank: NatWest

You can pay via cash or cheque by arrangement through the Booking Clerk or to our address: Colwick Parish Council, Community Centre, Vale Road, Colwick, NG4 2GP.
How will I get into the community centre for the booking?
A representative from the Parish Council will come to open and close the centre for you at your booking times.
Does the community centre have a kitchen?
There is a kitchen area available in both the Main Hall and in the Small Hall. Both kitchen areas contain a kettle, sink, fridge, microwave, cutlery (forks, knives and spoons), cups & saucers.
Can we get into the halls early to set up?
No, the setting up and clearing away time must be included in the overall time hired and be paid for as part of the whole booking.
Can we sell alcohol?
No! If alcohol is to be sold then the hirer must obtain the necessary licence from the Local Authority. Alcohol can be consumed within the Community Hall so long as it is provided free of charge to guests at your event or alcohol can be brought in by guests for their own consumption during your event.
What is the latest time that the halls can be used?
Hirers must vacate the halls and car park by 11:00pm.
Is there cleaning equipment available?
Yes, a dust pan and brush, large brush and a mop are available for you to use to clean up.
What do we do with rubbish?
Rubbish bags are provided in each kitchen and these should be used and left secure in the kitchen area at the end of your event.
Can we hire the halls for teenager parties?
No! This is mainly due to gate crashers and underage drinking in the past.
Can we bring in a smoke machine?
No! Any machine which produces or purports to create smoke is banned from use within all bookings made by any hirer.
PLEASE NOTE that the Community Centre is closed at the following times:
- all bank holidays
- the whole week between Christmas and New Year
- two weeks in August for maintenance
- any other times at the Parish Council’s prerogative
